Tourist Information

There are Tourist Information Centres in Jedburgh and Selkirk, open all year.  Visit Scottish Borders has lots more information on these and other TICs in the Borders.

Smailholm Tower (Historic Scotland) and Mellerstain House are both situated near Smailholm Village, walking distance for the energetic, or two to three miles by car.  There are many other interesting places to visit in the wider Borders area, including Abbotsford House, Bowhill, Floors Castle, Paxton House, and the Border Abbeys at Dryburgh, Melrose, Jedburgh and Kelso.  Visit Scottish Borders will give further details on these and other good places to visit locally.
