The playground you see today is based in what was originally the orchard and vegetable garden for the village school. It was the result
of generosity and cooperation from many individuals and organisations who gave grants, advice and practical help. It continues to be well used, and attracts children, parents and grandparents
from other Border villages and towns who enjoy being able to picnic and play safely in an attractive wooded area.
The play equipment includes swings, and a climbing frame with a slide, a climbing rope and a ladder, as well as balance boards and a tree stump walk. The playground is suitable for small
children and those who are a bit bigger and welcome more of a challenge. There are also two picnic benches. Situated next to the Village Hall, it is also an added attraction during children's
parties or daytime hall events.
